Background
Wednesday Campanella formed in 2012, originally consisting of vocalist KOM_I, producer Kenmochi Hidefumi, and director Dir.F. The group’s name refers to their usual rehearsal day (Suiyōbi). After KOM_I’s departure in 2021, Utaha joined the group, ushering in a “massive revitalization” that has seen them reach new heights of popularity both in Japan and internationally. Their music is a celebration of wordplay and rhythm, where the lyrics—while often sounding like delightful nonsense—are precision-engineered to fit the house and hip-hop oriented beats created by Kenmochi.
