The KOKAMI@network is a project series founded by Shoji Kokami to create high-quality theatrical works outside of his primary theater troupe, Third Stage. Since its inception, the project has focused on creating “networked” collaborations between veteran actors and rising stars. Kokami is a recipient of the prestigious Kishida Kunio Drama Award and is widely credited with helping to shape the vibrant “shogekijo” (small theater) movement in Japan during the 1980s.
