The Italian Turk 2026 at New National Theatre

Rossini’s celebrated comic opera will make its anticipated debut at the New National Theatre Opera Palace in Tokyo this October. Laurent Pelly will direct Rossini while Alessandro Bonato will conduct Rossini; the co-production with Teatro Real and Opéra de Lyon will bring a metatheatrical flair to Rossini on stage. By securing New National Theatre Opera Palace Turk 2026 tickets international visitors will get to experience Rossini, an Italian opera buffa performed by a world-class cast, in the heart of Japan.

A Comic Story of Love and Intrigue

First premiered after the success of The Girl in Algiers The Italian Turk is a bright and lively comedy focused on love triangles, mistaken identities and romantic complications. The story centers on the playboy Turkish prince Selim, the heroine Fiorilla, her proper husband Geronio and Selims old lover Zaida. Their messy romantic situations happen through a set of duets, trios and quartets. In the middle of the story is the poet Prosdócimo, who wants to turn the real-life drama, around him into a play working as both narrator and director.

Laurent Pellys creative staging brings this idea to life by using the idea of the “photonovel”—a type of romantic story told with pictures and words in bubbles. In Pellys way of looking at it the opera turns into a look at Fiorillas spirited imagination as she gets lost in romance magazines. The characters move easily between graphic dreams and real life making for a visual treat along, with Rossinis clear and lively music.

International Cast and Opera Palace Experience

The production has a group of famous performers from around the world and from Japan. A singer named Claudia Muschio who is known for her voice plays the part of Fiorilla. A young singer named Alejandro Bariñas Vietes who sings in a voice takes the role of Selim. A well-known performer who is good, at comic roles named Paolo Bordogna plays Geronio. Another performer named Luzil Gatin plays Don Narciso and a singer named Bruno Taddia plays the poet Prosdócimo. The group of singers includes Yuka Tajima and Yasuhiro Yamamoto. The New National Theatre Chorus and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra also take part in the performance.

The Opera Palace provides world-class acoustics and production values making it an ideal setting to witness high-caliber opera during a stay in Japan. The atmosphere is elegant the performances are powerful. The attention, to detail is remarkable. It’s an experience that captures the heart of classical music and Japanese artistry. Why booking through Jasumo Tickets helps

Purchasing tickets for classical arts events in Japan can be very difficult for people from other countries. Ticket systems in Japan often require a phone number to verify payments from inside the country and using websites that are only in Japanese. Popular seats often disappear quickly when the general sale starts. Jasumo Tickets helps with these problems by getting seats from official ticket sources and event organizers all, over Japan.

All the admin stuff and emails with ticket sellers are done in Japanese.. Don’t worry. You get clear updates, in English every step of the way. Many foreign credit cards get rejected when trying to buy tickets on sites. Jasumo Tickets fixes this by paying through trusted channels. Each ticket is checked carefully to make sure it’s real before it’s sent out. Then it’s delivered safely to your hotel or place to stay in Japan.
