After he started learning from Katsura Yoneji in 2011 Futaba developed a way of performing that uses the lively way people speak in old Osaka. His fame grew a lot after he won the prize at the 2021 NHK Newcomer Rakugo Awards. This made him very important in bringing stories to new audiences all over Japan. The Storytelling and Guest Performances of Yuki Rinrinmaru

The Yuki Rinrinmaru solo performance series shows the depth of comic theater through carefully thought out storylines. The show looks at struggles from love that is not returned to dealing with personal problems showing how people deal with hard times with heart and humor. This is not a old-fashioned show that is stuck in the past the rakugo by Futaba shows everyday life with clear details and real feelings. To go along with the story the tour brings in special guest performers that are right for each city. In Tokyo the first night has live film commentary (called benshi) by Yorimitsu Sakamoto and then on the second night a famous storyteller named Shofukutei Jinpuku performs. For the shows in Aichi and Osaka the program has Daikagura acrobatics by Lucky Mai with things, like spinning umbrellas and balancing tea bowls.
