Europe is a rock and glam metal band that was formed in Upplands Väsby, Sweden in 1979. The band started out with the name Force. Europe became one of the well-known hard rock and glam metal bands of the 1980s. The band was created by lead vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum. The classic line-up of Europe was formed when bassist John Levén, drummer Ian Haugland and keyboardist Mic Michaeli joined the group. Europe had a lot of success with their 1986 album The Final Countdown. This album was very popular around the world. Sold many copies. The title track of this album was very famous. Reached the top of the charts in more than 25 countries. Throughout their time as a band Europe has made a lot of music that has a lot of guitar sounds, nice keyboard parts and catchy singing. Some of their known albums include Out of This World, Prisoners in Paradise and more recent hard rock albums like Start, from the Dark and Walk the Earth.
Attending a Europe concert in Japan shows how well rock stars from around the world can work together with the style of concerts in Japan. Japanese venues, like Tokyos NHK Hall, have sound that’s very clear and well built so John Norums bright guitar solos and Joey Tempests strong singing can be heard very well. Fans in Japan are known worldwide for being very excited but very polite at concerts making the whole room feel electric from the first chord, to the last encore.
